I'm amazed that his hand is still steady and his eyes are so sharp at his age. I am losing both.

Seriously? A 5" (1/2 MOA) group at 1,000 yards with a rifle completely new to him? With what, an hour of training on the system? If this is completely true, it is completely AMAZING.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

If you didn't watch the video at the bottom of the story, go back and watch it...

And, if you're any kind of patriot, and it doesn't bring a tear to your eye... well then, you got no respect... It's a heck of a shot... no... heck of a group. and that man deseerves his balck cap...

I just read the article, and am waiting for the vid to load.

My internet is slow. Not dial-up slow but only about 7-8 times better. ANYWAY,

I had a lump in my throat reading the article, and my chest was heavy with pride, as I read the story.

Very Cool! A great way to honor a great shot!

Always a Soldier and Warrior. His reaction when they presented him with the black hat and then the replica of his WWII rifle just about did me in. I sure hope his scope wasn't as blurry as my monitor.

A friend of mine emailed me a link to this video. The guy did an amazing job! I've seen the two Sgts. that were coaching him on the Military channel when Top Sniper competition aired. I've seen it several times--watch the series every time it airs. They won one year. They are amazing shots too!
