I love the creative designs of Burt Rutan here in the US. He was the first private enterprise to design an aircraft that made it to space and back. Twice in one day. If you can find the documentary called 'Black Sky' watch it. It is amazing. The courage of the test pilot Mike Melville is also something to see.

Very nice and informative. This might be of interest to aircraft buffs as well. A virtual tour of the AF Museum in Dayton, OH. Here, click away: National Museum of the U.S. Air Force - Virtual Tour

That is awesome, I spent many, many days growing up spending time at Wright Pat and the AF museum there, gawking at the planes. I've always liked aircraft, even more when they gave my chevro-legs a rest.

I built SN#1 of two planes for Cessna, and neither is on the site. A bit incomplete.

Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME. Our success in this will be proportional to how hard we work to make it happen.

If I could be given my choice of any other life to live, it would be to be the pilot of a Douglas A-1H Skyraider during either the Korean or Vietnam wars. It could carry a bigger bomb load than a WWII B-17 bomber, and had four awesome 20mm cannons with loads of ammo.

That aircraft was the ultimate prop plane fighter/bomber:

The engine powering that aircraft was amazing!

Huge Napalm Bombs under a Skyraider's wing during the Vietnam War ( Note the barrels of the two 20mm cannons on the wing ):

Occasionally worked on Spads at DaNang, if I could have any war bird that would be the one. Engine was a Wright R-3350 rated at 2700HP. Many a fighter jock and ground pounder owed their lives to them in the Sandy role.

Now if I had a chance to fly a warplane during WWII, I would probably choose the closest thing to a Skyraider that existed back then, the British made Hawker Tempest. It also was powered by one heck of an engine, and was also armed with 4 20mm canons.

I always wanted one of those sea/patrol planes. I think they would be awesome to fly. Kind of like an RV in the sky.
