Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! May God bless her with health and happiness! My German Shepherd is the same way with both of my kids. She has gone after strangers that have come to my door, but she let's my kids do whatever they want to her.

It is better to have your gun and not need it, than to need it and not have it!

I suggest not putting the dog out the next time. Hold him gently so that he learns who is okay to be there. Putting him out shows that he is not part of the family.

    What Eagleks said.

    Girls indeed!!!!!!

Lie,cheat, and ste,,, well maybe not, but hope you have big pockets!!!

My brother had a Yellow Lab (Ben) back in around 90, 91.
We visited with my first born, a son, and he was around 1.5-2yrs old.
We were by the garage, and my son wandered close to the fence, where the next door neighbor had a 135lb. GSD.
It came charging the fence, Ben rushed to put himself in between my son and the fence/GSD, and went ballistic, and I think if said fence wasn't there, it would have been a death-match.
Very protective, and he (my son) wasn't even part of Ben's flock.

Congrats! One day Bo will bring her a mouthful of dog food and place it infront of whomever is holding her when she is nursing as my Airedale did. Brought tears to my eyes.
