I didn't watch any of the Canadian madness, but we Americans have our own set of riot thugs too. I remember how people went nuts after the Rodney King verdict. All they needed was some lame "excuse" to go one a binge of destruction and mayhem.
Mirroring someone else's comment about gravy on french fries, ewwwwww. When we were in Ontario a few years ago, I was asked if that is what I wanted on them. Ketchup, oui, gravy, non!

The difference is that in the United States, fans usually riot when their team wins.

the only reason they were rioting and fighting is they were waiting for another hockey game to break out LOL

I watched game 7. The fans there booed soooooo loudly when the Stanley Cup was being presented to Boston. Most cities traditional have the class to give polite applause or stay quite-very low class, especially for hockey standards.
On another note (and I could not find the citation and it is unrelated), I read somewhere last year that Canada per capita has many times more guns than the US but a tiny fraction less the amount of violent gun related deaths. The assertions of the article were: Canadians have many guns-especially for hunting and for whatever social reason, the there is more gun violence in the US,, it's the people not the guns. Kind of obvious but I wish I could find the citation.
Last night at the fights, a hockey game broke out.
The more good folks carry guns, the fewer shots the crazies can get off.

Aiko, if you can find that article I would like to read it.

Russia TV had extensive coverage of the riot. Their commentators said that it was just more evidence of Western "decadence".
Riots apparently never take place inside Russia, for some reason.
