    Stupidity.

I've noticed this for years, finally venting.

Sign inside the lockers in my workout club.
Do not leave money, jewelery, or anything of value in this locker, or anywhere within this facility.

I thought that's what lockers were for.

As stupid as "No Guns Allowed" signs at gun shops (Apex, NC), but hey, it is private property.

To OP - the gym is probably saving 5% on insurance by posting the signs in the lockers.

    Bubbiedad, I understand.

We have a sign on the front door where I work that says "Shirt and shoes are required".

Doesn't say a durned thing about pants, though.

It's a locker, not a safe. Its primary purpose is not security, it's storage. The sign is to make sure you understand that they are not making any guarantees that your stuff is safe, they're only providing a place for you to put it. It's like a parking lot. If your car was stolen from their parking lot, they wouldn't be liable for that. It's the same with any items you leave in the locker.

It's a CYA kind of thing. They don't want to be held liable for any theft. Granted a sign that says just that would probably be better, but to each his own.
