so, how bad can your day be compared to some of these people's?

---> it is a NASA Hubble photograph or two galaxies that seem to have found each other.
not to be alarmed; they are 117 million lightyears from us...and counting.

The two galaxies are crashing into each other. Planets will probably get ripped apart, anything living will likely all die. Sounds like a bad day to me.

OK I'm glad you added the description Claude, I had no idea what it was supposed to be a picture of and a light-year is a unit of distance, not time....

but of course....our sun is 8 1/3 light minutes away.
these galaxies are a bit further....and as they are both moving away from our sun's relative position and direction of travel,
i added to their distance ( forgetting for the moment that they are each about 300 million light-years in diamiter)....and counting.

Very cool photo. Looks like God put together an artists rendering of Saturn....

While there is still much to learn about such occurances, there is no certainty that living organisms would not be able to survive such an event. The initial 'collision' would take roughly 100 millions years.

I still don't understand what a light-year has to do with anything... One can't have a bad light-year.

    It was a pun.

Well it's crap like this or the coming of Galactus that will be our ultimate downfall, not global warming, pollution, fox news, or the tea party as some would have us believe.

No Kidding ~ You do KNOW that there were people right here on Planet Earth that got really upset and worried when it was reported that our own SUN would go supernova and then burn out in 5 Billion years?
