Drugs....nothing good can come from it.
Unlike spoiled losers like Lindsay Lohan, Amy Winehouse had real talent going for her. I can't know what makes people like her tick but the story is a sad one. I appreciated her music.

I would venture to say that some good things come from drugs. A lot of great music has been written by drug users. Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, etc were all drug users. Winehouse may have been talented, but those guys were geniuses. Many American painters like Jackson Pollack had alcohol problems, but they produced cutting edge art.
So, it's an artistic thing. I'm not an artist, and I don't see how drugs could positively affect my life, but to each his own. Drugs can help one relax, party, or see the world in a different light. People do that all the time without looking like hell. Keith Richards is actually a pretty responsible user. He wrote a book that explained how he never went overboard and never got greedy with his habits.
Shooting H is playing with fire, though.
IMHO This is the gold standard for me, both for the memories and the music.

I kinda like this one.
Friends of Amy Winehouse have now confirmed that she purchased large amounts of cocaine, ecstasy, and ketamine just a few hours before her death. She was also reported to be drunk at the time.
I did not realize that these were drugs that a person could overdose on.

And not a care was given....
On an important note...
The same day, a US soldier died, defending our freedoms.
Where was the international coverage on that?
Well, for the last two years, we have been getting pretty consistent casualties from Afghanistan. So a report of a US soldier being killed has been a very common news item in recent years. It certainly is nothing unusual to hear.
However, I don't see any new casualties being reported by the Department of Defense since last Friday, when they told about Master Sgt. Benjamin A. Stevenson being killed on the 21st.
So I'm not sure where you are getting any indication at all that a US soldier was killed on the 23rd. A quick Google news search came up with no new US casualties in Iraq or Afghanistan as well. And one can pretty much count on the Department of Defense website reporting any casualties.
The only drug I am aware of that nobody ever died from an overdose is Marijuana,There are many over the counter medicines that when abused can get you high, and people can overdose and die from

Ben Stevenson is a hero. Amy Winehouse is a sad poster child for what way too much of our society has become.
Who should get noticed? Which one will be remembered years from now?
