    The answer is...
    Because he was chasing a burglar from his hotel room and fell, rupturing his Achilles tendon.

    Good on him for chasing the BG down. But not so wise at 71 Y.O..

    Achilles tendon.

    and mine is also torn right now. I've been limping for about three weeks now.
    ~ slowly things are improving.

    If anybody has ever had one - every time you take a step it feels like a knife is stabbing into your heel & when you're not walking....it burns.

    I bought the GEL shoe liners. "I'm Gellin" - and that seriously does help.

    I'm expecting that it will be another month before mine heals up. I put myself on Hyper Vitamin therapy.

    Surgery is not an option for me right now and neither is a leg CAST during hot summer months.

    It would almost be worth catching the burglary charge just so you'd have the jail house story to tell how Alex Trebek chased you down.
