Stage Collapse at Indiana State Fair

I'm at work at the TV station I work at in Indy. A stage at the Indiana State Fair has collapsed due to heavy winds. The stage was to have had "Sugarland" perform on it just minutes after the collapse happened. The stage superstructure that holds the lights and speakers and such collapsed into the crowd. So far, state police are confirming that 4 people were killed and numerous serious injuries.

    Not good.

I went to the fair today with my girlfriend, we debated going to the concert but decided against it. Listened on the scanner since I heard what happened during a weather net, response has been top notch from the FD and ISP and fair staff. They've needed to use several hospitals to accommodate all the wounded, 12 ambulances on scene in the first 15 minutes

Prayers to those that are injured, and those that lost loved ones today. 3 yr old and 12 yr old trauma patients were amongst the 26 or so transported.

Sounds like they're wrapping up on scene medical and just doing extra sweeps to make sure nobody injured is walking the park. Hopefully all are at the hospital now.

We are reporting that no new patients have come in in some time. It looks like everyone injured have made it to hospitals.

This really had the potential to be much worse than it was. I think, after seeing several amateur videos of the actually collapse, it's a miracle that only 4 people were killed.

With that large of a structure coming down it is amazing more people were not injured or killed, kudos to the emergency people for their fast response.

yeah that was not fun last night, but ICS did its job and its gotta be one of the fastest response and rescue efforts I have ever seen.
