And something like this is why you have a camera setup to get everybody's face and height as they walk in the door, it takes time but you can compare the faces to known faces and ID some of these people, push them to rat out their friends and they can all get the same court date and community service. At least this one wasn't violent, but then again most criminals start off small and work to bigger more violent crimes; and now that they know they can get away with it, as police aren't going to take the time to ID the faces in the video they already have....look for this to happen again in that county, soon.

GERMANTOWN, Md. - Montgomery County police are investigating a robbery of a 7-11 in Germantown by more than two dozen people.

Police say the so-called "flash mob robbery" happened around 1:45 a.m. Saturday.

The group of about 24 people entered the store, stole snacks, drinks and other items and left after about one minute.

Police have identified several of the suspects through surveillance video.

A police spokeswoman says she doesn't know how the robbery was organized.

The title is misleading. Was it from the local media? There are no police that I saw and the reporter said they arrived after the mob had left.

How many all black flash mobs have their been lately causing trouble? Up until this crap started it was a bunch of fun events that I associated with flash mobs (spontaneous dancing, plays, etc).

A big plus-one on that. The term "flash mob" really shouldn't be used to describe this kind of criminal activity. But language follows its own rules and there isn't much that can be done about it.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, the regional train system, BART, has deactivated cell-phone service on the trains, specifically to prevent this kind of coordinated gang activity. The hacker group Anonymous attacked them yesterday in protest, but I approve of the measure.

I've been on a BART train that was attacked by a mob and although I wasn't victimized, it was really quite terrifying. As a futurist, I can appreciate the power and promise of tools like Facebook and Twitter, but I also understand that they are powerful weapons in the hands of our underclasses - as shown in the linked video.

To me, the takeaway message is that it might feel good to clamor for "small government" and cheer and celebrate as social services and programs are cut and eliminated. A large contingent of our population now jumps up and applauds every time a benefit is removed, a safety net is slashed, and taxpayers are relieved of a burden.

But watch that video. We either pay the cost through taxes and government, or we pay it in crime. No such thing as a free lunch, folks. As for the clerk, let's say he's armed. Should he draw and start shooting at people taking candy bars and ice cream?

I can point to a trailer park full of white dirtbags that would gladly be doing the same thing.

Could you point out a recent all white mob that was vehemently anti black for me? No recent cases of that as far as I know. I do, however, know that there have been plenty of blacks marching through the streets rioting and screaming "kill whitey!"

Go online and read what's coming from some of the racist blacks participating in these riots. There's plenty of talk about us crackers getting what's coming to us.

How about a "flash mob" of legally armed folks getting together at the local convenience store simply for the sake of proving they can muster on short notice? Do THAT 3 or 4 times in a neighborhood and call the local TV station... see if that has any effect.
