Calderon blames US Again.
Mexico leader slams US after casino massacre - World news - Americas - msnbc.com
A visibly angry Calderon urged the United States to do more to curb demand for illegal drugs and stop weapon trafficking into Mexico.
"If ... they are resigned to consuming drugs, then they need to find alternatives ... and establish clear points of access different from the border with Mexico, but this situation can't keep going on like this," he said.
As usual it's the US who is at fault. We fuel the greed of the drug dealers, we ship them the weapons they use (although full auto weapons and RPG's are not readily available), we turn a blind eye when they bribe a corrupt official. His government is so perfect. They don't lose guns and munitions that were sold to their military and ends up in the cartels hands, they don't have a cartel that is basically made up of rogue police and military deserters, they don't suppress the rights of their people, they don't think it is fine to flood our border with illegal aliens and then claim they deserve the rights of a legal immigrant. And we all know that when their next presidential election comes around, it will be honest and above board, with no threats and intimidation taking place!
Freedom doesn't come free. It is bought and paid for by the lives and blood of our men and women in uniform.

I wouldn't give credence to much of what Calderon says but there is no denying that our drug use does create the demand. As long as we provide a huge and lucrative market for drugs there will be violent cartels willing to step up and meet the demand at huge profits. I know it's naïve to think it but we could put drug dealers out of business by simply not using their drugs.

(Insert Expletive Here) Mexico!

He has one point. I'm going with make all drugs legal. Tax the heck out of them and they will still be 1/10th the price. This will go a long ways to helping fix our debt issues, It will put drug dealers out of business, it will end theft and robbery to support drug use. Best of all the users will surly expire prior to going on the dole or even before propagating. (Not suggesting breaking any laws just changing the laws to meet realities of the situation). And if your worried about the children. How about we all start parenting and taking personal responsibility for ourselves and our families?....Sorry if I'm a bit off my usual sweet self today. Just getting totally fed up with what I'm seeing here as well as around the world. Also with the blaming of others for all that happens to us. And finally, thinking we can solve all problems with big laws and little action.
I carry to protect myself and my loved ones from the BG's. Not to solve societies problems. That said: if more carried the deterrent would only have a positive overall effect on those problems.
