I must be leading a charmed life or cannot identify the Bad Guys around me.

The only "bad guy" I can even come close to describing wasn't really our friend or a bad kid that I knew of. He was a young black kid who hung around us 50 something old white guys at the YMCA. He would lift weights and shoot a little baskeball with us. I believe he was just looking for some kind of positive male influence and "adopted" us because we paid some attention to him.

One day he met up with a stranger in his neighborhood, went to the guy's apartment and shot him cold dead with a .25 auto for absolutely no reason. He had been to the YMCA with us just a few days prior to the event and one of my bud's who goes to the Y saw his picture in the local newspaper. Needless to say, gave us some cold chills because that could have been one of us this kid decided to shoot. You just never know.

I started out as one when I was a teen.

But, since I came to know JESUS and God delivered me, I have ministered to many BGs and helped ex-cons get a fresh start.

Not to say we were friends, but I worked with this guy in the Air Force.

I think we all know at least one person like this. A lot of the cats I ran with in high school didn't change much. A lot of those guys are still doing the same thing. I'm glad I am not like that, and turned out for the best. None of them are murderers, but they are into drugs and drug dealing. Haha, this is a different thread. Lol

My father and uncle were both bad men. My uncle still is. (My father passed 10 years ago)
An example: Dad beat an elderly man nearly to death for 18 dollars out of his wallet. Luckily my mom got away from him early.
My uncle finally got out of prison a couple years ago for his last stint of armed robbery. It was sad that he called and asked if we had Dad's number.

Besides that I went to highschool with a kid that murdered a guy, dumped the body in a creek outside of town, and forced the guy's family to clean up the blood in the house and dispose of the evidence.
Crazy thing was I actually knew him well. I was kind to him because I thought he was slow and he was nice enough. He never bathed and was socially awkward. We both were in a group that would play tag football during lunchbreak in an unused gym on campus. Once he grabbed me and held me down, stared at me blankly until my buddy pulled him off. We didn't think much of it though. Like I said, we thought he was slow. Apparently that was an act to disarm people. But we didn't hang out with him after that.

I knew a guy who a year after we graduated raped a girl, killed her, than he set fire to her body to get rid if evidence. It didn't work and they caught him almost right away. I only talked to him in class he mostly kept to himself. I was very surprised when I saw the news report. I must say I never thought he was capable of something like that but I'm glad he is off the streets still to this day, that was ten years ago. I just goes to remind me never underestimate another human being's ability to surprise you.

I grew up next door to two boys who are now, both registered sex offenders for life for raping an infant, together. To me, that's some BAD guys.

I've dealt with plenty more, but those don't count.

I remarried 10 years ago. I married into a family from East Texas....1/2 are prison guards and the other 1/2 are the prisoners, lol. 3 are total scum...nothing violent though. They are not allowed at my house. One has changed his life around.... for 4 years now. Pretty proud of him.

In 2002 I was taking a fencing class that was a mix of adults and teenagers. One of the teens ended up breaking into his neighbors house, stabbed to death the father, then chased the mother around attacking her until she was able to flee with the children. He was arrested on the scene.

The kid lived within a mile of my house, I had given him rides to the class numerous times. He was new to fencing and was an extremely agressive fencer from the start. Most kids starting out were always a little timid and defensive before they get used to it, but not this kid. It was a detriment to him while he was learning.
