    Man Beheads Self in Virginia - The Daily Beast

    "A man in Virginia beheaded himself Tuesday after an apparent domestic dispute with his wife. Police responding to a call about the dispute noticed a burning utility trailer and a white SUV nearby. They also noticed that the driver of the SUV had tied a cable around a tree, run it through the car window, and wrapped it around his neck. When police tried to get him to exit from the vehicle, he accelerated and decapitated himself. "Nobody has ever heard of anything like this," the local sheriff said."

    Anyone want to bet that soon one of the great legislative minds will suggest a bill requiring a waiting period for anyone buying more than 5 ft. of cable?

    No, I don't think they'll do that, they'll just say we need to regulate the purchase of guns more tightly! After all, he might have used one of those evil assault pistols on himself if the cable hadn't worked.

    He was a very creative guy, that is for sure! Hopefully he accelerated a lot in order to decapitate himself very fast.

    I was on duty back in 1984 when an oil field worker decided to winch a trailer across a road instead of hooking the truck up to it,2 guys coming down the road in a truck at 55 were decapitated by the cable.One you just never forget

    I guess the CDC will have to do a study now, regarding suicides by cable.
    Perhaps they could have saved this one life if cables weren't readily available to non LE or military community.
