Been following that story for some time. He claims he innocently walked up to the drivers window and was shot.....in
reality, he charged the driver of the car and punched him through the window.
Good shoot.
Moral of the story? With over 800,000 CCW's in Florida, be very selective who you punch in a road rage fling. You just might get shot in the process and yourself end up in jail for assault.....with ZERO charges filed against the shooter.
Kimbers are the guns you show your friends....Glocks are the ones you show your enemies.
Sounds like Florida's castle doctrine is going to hold firm on this.![]()
That's good to know as our castle doctrine also applies to any domicile, hotel, motel, tent, RV or car.
I'm just speculating here, but I'm going to say that the fact the fire inspector waited until he was actually attacked and punched probably played no small role in not being charged. But again, I'm just speculating on that.
Still, I'm glad the thug was the one being charged and going to jail, if only for a year.

A ccw'r who used his head, no charges, no defense lawyer, no civil problems. An idiot who didn't use his head, shot in the chest and time in jail. I think there is a lesson in there somewhere.
"I do what I do." Cpl 'coach' Bowden, "Southern Comfort".
The reason he got 13 months is that puts him in prison in Florida.
Maximum sentence in county jail is 12 months.

From the article: "He faced a minimum sentence of 3 years in prison, but Prosecutors negotiated a more lenient deal..."?
Were they trying to reduce the overcrowding for "guests of the state"?
