    Band of Brothers

Spotted this on the History channel this week, so I decided to break out my DVD collection of this HBO mini-series.

If you've never seen this, you should not miss it.

It makes me proud to be an American and grateful to those brave men who served in WWII, and to all our servicemen before and since then.

I think this should be part of the history curriculum in our high schools.

I have the DVD boxset and I love it. As good or better than Saving Private Ryan. The book by Stephen Ambrose is a great read as well.

I agree. A superb show. Many scenes bring a tear to my eye and others bring a sense of pride. Well worth the time investment.

Awesome series! I have the DVD set, as well as a copy of Ambrose's book.

I also highly recommend Beyond Band Of Brothers, The War Memoirs Of Major Dick Winters reviewed here: http://www.combatcarry.com/vbulletin...ead.php?t=8547

Another book highly recommended is Biggest Brother, The Life Of Major Dick Winters by Larry Alexander.

+1 on Band of Brothers! I should buy the boxed set on DVD, because every time the History Channel rebroadcasts it, I start filling up the DVR. Favorite line: "We're Airborne. We're supposed to be surrounded."

You EOD guys would go for that, wouldn't you! "Lessee . . . do I cut the red wire or the blue wire . . . ?"

I suppose it's appropriate that the main character's name was Lt. Brian ASH!

Band of Brothers is classical material about an honored unit of the U.S. Army.

Yeah you definitely need the set on DVD. You get all the interviews with a number of the survivors between the episodes etc...

The RED wire, it's ALWAYS the RED wire....... Don't you watch the movies??

Kind of, If I remember my EOD history of the 42 original British EOD Officers there were 3 that survived the war. It was one heck of a learning curve.
