My unit in the Army, 10th Mountain Division.

That same unit fought in the mountains of Italy during WWII, right where my family comes from. Small world.

The story is that soldiers from the 10th took my infant father from my grandmother (causing her to panic), only to return him safe and sound - and loaded with candy, Spam, and other goodies. My dirt poor grandparents and relatives never forgot the kindness of the GIs.

I guess my service with the 10th was going full circle in a way.

My father was none too crazy about my going into the Army (I'm an only child); but my grandfather was very proud to have a grandson who was an officer in the American Army.

I'm a music major focusing on tuba, I've been doing that for the past 14 years. I'll probably end up doing it in the Army in a year or two unless I end up with my dream job as a band director at a big high school, so with all of these school districts cutting the position I would be in, the odds are that I'll be auditioning for the Army after I graduate.

My son plays HS football, we call him "buck". ( thats not his name) one time in a playoff game he made a huge pick and my father stood up and said way to go "buckwheat". So I am now Mr. Buckwheat.

    Kerberos; greek from of Cerberus.

Gaurds the gates of the underworld to keep those who have crossed the River Styx from escaping.

It's in reference to "Devil Dog"... former USMC. (hell hound)

A nickname I picked up while in service. Long story.

I couldn't use the one i use every where else as it was one letter too long. This one was the personalized plate for my red, 2001 Z28 which I sold when my son started driving, much to his dismay. ;)

My brother and I used to use our hands as people when we were bored and had no toys around. We called them 'Mano', not even realizing that mano in Italian and Spanish meant hand and man!

I use Mano as a name for all the games I play on my computer, but found out it was always taken, so I use Mano3, as it seems always available.
