I was awarded the combat infantry badge in 2003 during my tour in Iraq.My unit was the first national guard unit from indiana to recieve the award since a indiana national guard ranger unit recieved it during vietnam.Although i have not confirmed it my company may have been the first national guard infantrymen to get pinned with the CIB in that peticular conflict.My first name is William which is my dads middle name ,which he went by.So to avoid confusion i have always answerd to my niddle name Michael or mike.
