    Just come and get me.....

Got ready for bed yesterday evening and went through my usual ritual....made sure the sliding glass door to the patio was locked and secured with a security bar. Locked the front door including the deadbolt. Doublechecked the Kimber and put it on the nightstand....and went to bed. A few minutes ago, I was getting ready for work and started looking for my keys. Couldn't find them anywhere.

Sure enough, I had left them hanging in the door lock when I came in yesterday evening.

Been there, done that. And I guess we all have, even if we won't admit it.

Yep, you'd be surprised what I've left someplace stupid more than once! Not my EDC though.

You'd like to think so, but it will probably happen again. I've done it once. My wife has done it several times.

Just one question......can you claim "Castle Doctrine" if you leave the keys to your castle hanging in the front door?

    Sounds like "baiting" to me...

I make my keys a part of my nightstand arsenal (keys, knife, flashlight, pistol in lock box). The remote keyless entry panic button can be implemented to maybe scare intruders and alert neighbors.

That's the best way to test your ammo. I've done it too, except sometimes when I'm in a bad mood, I just engage the weakest lock on the door, like the screen door latch, and hope somebody is stupid enough to breech it.
Ignorance is a long way from stupid, but left unchecked, can get there real fast.
