Do you know what is annoying?

When the dang dealer whom I let do my last oil change in my Jeep uses an impact wrench (over tighten) and rounds off the drain plug.

That is the second time its happened to me, the first was on my beloved Mustang GT. Thank goodness for a vise grip and a auto parts store I can ride my dirt bike to. I just had to vent.

I thought you were going to say all of your recent animations on here. Including the bug, the skeleton doing the snake, and that jack-o-lantern.

You know what is worse? Before I had my last oil change, the dealer moron (only went to them because it was provided at purchase) must of used and impact or torque wrench, and broke the weld on the bolt inside the tank. So when I went to go do my last change (I usually do my own, and will from now on), the plug could spin forever, and never move anywhere. So I had a $600 oil change, because they had to change out the pan with the oil.

I'd be after a piece of someone's butt, in both cases.

Can relate. I don't know what the Toyota dealer did to my brand new 4 Runner back in 2003, but it leaked oil after the first change at 3 K. They fixed it, and its been fine since, but it was more than just leaving the bolt loose. I think they had to re-thread and replace the bolt or do some other "inventive" fix that they have never come clean about.

I'm always afraid to bring a car in for even the most minor repair. Experience has taught that about half the time it comes back with something extra wrong with it. E.g., one time a tire picked up a screw at the shop. One time a mechanic left his cigar to burn a hole in the battery. Hole and cigar were obvious when I opened the hood on getting the car home. Another time I bought new tires and the kid who changed them out stripped the wheel lugs. Of course they never own their mistakes.

My grandpa said the same thing about the livery stable when they shod his horse.

In mine, it wasn't worth the drive back to Hawaii.

Kinda like the time I had to have the ignition switch block replaced and now the display on my radio doesn't work anymore?

"We didn't touch anything that would cause that!"

Uh, yeah, right. It's a coincidence...

He looks constipated, maybe he needs more fiber.

OR maybe I'll just give him to Frisch's to make me some delicious pie.

I've never figured out why they think they need it so tight? Or is it just laziness that they don't want to spend the extra 20 seconds to spin it tight with their finger and tighten it up a little extra with a wrench? But I've heard many such stories before. It is fairly common, I think.

No, it probably wouldn't. I ate a lot of junk food the past few days, plus a campfire 12 pack last night. Drain plugs would be at the top of my mind if I ate some pumpkin pie tonight.

Fight fire with fire. I have an electric impact gun in my arsenal for that very reason. It's the only way to get those suckers loose sometimes.
