When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk.

That was probably a very good choice! Don't worry, as soon as he gets his deer, you can probably have your stand back!

Now that"s downright funny! I think I would have left him alone too
Geeeezzzeee!!! Go stand in the corner for 30 minutes as punishment. The grass will be there 'till hell freezes over and can be mowed at any time. On the other hand, deer season is kinda like most wives being in a sexy mood - it only happens on rare occasion, you must strike while the iron is hot, and a measley bear shouldn't be allowed to mess up such a golden opportunity as either one. Otherwise, you might easily spend many months thereafter agonizing about the fleeting opportunity you gave up for something truly remarkable only because a bear was in your stand - or bed.
I always carry a few snacks with me on even a short hunting trip or when the wife is acting a little frisky (for extra energy); so I'd have tossed my peanut butter sandwich or an open can of Vienna sausages off to the side to bait the bugger down and let me get in the stand (or bed) instead of slinking away with my tail between my legs to do some pathetic and mundane task like mowing, cleaning out the garage, or watching a Disney movie - you should be ashamed, grasshopper
It's not bear season too?

Well, at least you know your stand is sturdy and properly installed.

It's too bad you didn't have a bear tag!

What's he using to shoot deer?
Oh man, that is funny. Reminds me of a squirrel hunt I had once. I too called it a day.
