Everyone has a price. The cartels are willing to pay that price.

No surprise, every basket has a bad apple.

Yup-- that's why I wish we'd pay our LEOs better. Folks need to be able to make a living to stay honest.
Same for many of our DAs and Judges. They get paid nothing compared to folks who don't do government work.

Apparently, the ICE basket has had at least 129 bad apples since 2003...

As a Fed myself, and realizing that that is still a relatively small percentage of ICE employees, that is a disturbing number to see in print.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

One is too many, but that #doesn't seem way out of line for an organization that large and for the number of years covered.

However, official corruption can not ever be tolerated or permitted to fester.

Federal employees have an UNDESERVED bad reputation and stuff like this sure doesn't help.

Lots of people are honest for nothing.

Yes, that is absolutely true, but the temptation is a lot harder to resist when you aren't making enough to
live on and you are dealing with folks who would pay you a year's salary for a day of looking the other way. Some folks will succumb.

There's just not excuse for paying LEOs poverty wages. There is no excuse for paying too many public servants poverty wages. The old saying applies-- you get what you pay for.

It's not just money. What if your family is threatened. These people pull no punches.

In Columbia, they don't want their DEA-type agents to know everything ... or too much, because by the time they are 30 .... they either are dead or go over to the dark side due to the pay.

Most of these agencies pay pretty good,I've heard BP agents with overtime can make around $80,000 year,ICE and other alphabet guys do pretty good too, they could be making 100,000 year and the greedy ones think they should be making more.A lot of the local City Cops and Sheriffs down here don't make that much, but most of them are honest
