    Here we go again!

Well its the second major snow storm in this week; last Wednesday we were supposed to get 6-8 inches and ended up getting 12-15 and tonight is a carbon copy of last weeks' storm. 20% of our town's trees were damaged and it looks like that will happen again especially that they are weakened already. Many Front Range Colorado towns were without power for a few days. We got up to 71 degrees over the weekend so its all just melted off. I'm sure many are ready and stocked for this possibility of another heavy, wet snowfall. Its coming down at about 1-2 inches per hour.
Oh well, another snow day off work (schools) to be made up later. Lots of reading and shovelling to do. Cheers!

I know how you feel when I rode my Motorcycle today I was in a short sleeve T-shirt,once it got dark temps dropped into the 60's so I put on my leather vest so I wouldn't get too chilly, and it's not even Winter yet

I went to our Blue Knight meeting last night, rode the bike when I left home it was 52 degrees, on the ride home it was 36 degrees. I have to invest in some heated riding gear.

As to the OP, most years we don't get 12 inches of snow all year, can't be said for the last three years though.

You might consider relocating to the banana belt. Palm trees are swaying in the gentle breezes and pretty girls are sunning themselves over here.
    Oops...Scratch that...I just looked outside.

I'm one of the odd ducks that loves snow- the more the better. If I where to move anywhere else, I'd go north for a better chance at seeing some real snow. I'm not impressed with the 3" chicken crap we get here in southern Ohio.

We got snow in the mountains last night but nothing in "The Grand Valley" around Grand Junction, CO. I did have some 3/4 melted snow landing on my bald head while soaking in the hot tub last night but no accumulation.

Ahh, sunny Colorado! Our streets are melted off and dry now (late afternoon). I grew up in Missouri, if we'd have gotten this much snow, it would stay around until April!

The best thing about this snow was watching the 10 month old puppy play in it with our other two dogs. Made me laugh and smile.

HAHA... I strangely had 11" of snow this past weekend in VA! It was a blasted nightmare. At least in the winter you expect it and all the leaves are off of the trees already. The wet heavy snow combined with the leaves still on the trees was a recipe for disaster. Trees took out power lines and polls everywhere. Thankfully power was only out Fri-Mon. I got lucky seeing as I'm surrounded by large old growth hardwoods. I had an oak tree drop and land within a foot of my chicken coop, but nothing came near the house.

It was the same here in Jersey. Far more tree and powerline damage than Hurricane Irene.
What a mess. Maybe it'll be the only snowstorm of the winter.

We had a beautiful Native American Summer day here today and yesterday in PA.
I have been absolutely enjoying the weather but, I do feel bad for the people that really got smacked with the extreme snow and the downed power lines and fallen trees.
Hopefully all of our members are much better prepared for such emergencies than the teeming masses.
