You sneaked up on me when you posted this thread though I should have known you'd pull something off like this. Good show and good shot!
DRT and .45 ACP! What more could a fellow desire?

Might I ask where you are hunting? Unless I'm horribly mistaken, gun season here in KY doesn't start until the 12th so I suspect you're in a different state. I also thought FMJ ammunition wasn't legal for hunting here (no matter what, it looks like it did the job pretty well) but I'm not positive on that.
I'm so ready to hit the woods this weekend, I have this Friday and all next week off work. All I have to do is hunt and go to class and all of my classes are in the afternoon. Time to re-stock the freezer.
You rock Gman. Thanks for this real world anecdote. That .45ACP completely busted that bone with no problem. Like others have said, I'll be real interested to see how the 9mm will compare.
Make sure to set enough of that meat to the side to make some jerky. ;-)
Gman, what was your handload?
Man, I can just smell those straps in the pan!

I don't see any horns. just kidding.
I got my last with a .45 fmj to the throat from about 30 feet. I was stalking in heavy forest and we saw each other at the same time. He dropped instantly.
Looks like some good eating. Good job.

Brings back fond memories. Col Askins and I used a couple of Colt New Service in ACP and hand loaded flat point match FMJ to hunt deer, Talk about bang flop!
