45acp with FMJ. Shot this morning from a stand using the Colt Gov model and hand loaded ammo. Shot was just under 20 yards or so, and quartering away. The last photo shows the broken shoulder bone. Good straightline penetration through chest cavity smashing all bone. You can see from the second photo that the right leg is completely destroyed.
Tomorrow I am going to use a 9mm again with 147 grn HPs, again. And yes, I am on vacation again.
It was dead right there.
Ignorance is a long way from stupid, but left unchecked, can get there real fast.

Wisconsin requires a 5.5" barrel length. sighhhhh. will have to buy another gun (revolver) just for hunting here. Nice thing is that any caliber is OK as long as it's center-fire. Easier with a revolver as the 5.5" is measured from firing pin to end of the barrel. Nice deer let us know how the 9mm works for you
I carry to protect myself and my loved ones from the BG's. Not to solve societies problems. That said: if more carried the deterrent would only have a positive overall effect on those problems.

Delaware requires 5.75" min barrel to 12.5" max barrel; pistol caliber only, no semiauto handguns. Not to mention the season is not until January.
