    What are your favorite targets?

I like a moving target ,once I dial my self in and get a good patern I always try to bring along something that moves to fire at. Most real targets arent gonna stand perfectly still for you to lock in on.I often bring a helium balloon the wind alone will keep it moving.I also have brought along a soft ball to try and hit once its rolling. Any oter ideas?

Balloons, put a little colored chalk in them. I also like clay pigeons, flying through the air or not. And of course steel. Plates or poppers, I dont care.

Cull potatoes, melons, squash, water bottles filled with water and lid screwed on.

According to my wife, the toilet is my most important target - accuracy is paramount, and a single miss can have dire consequences. Prolly why I've become very proficient at the range in accurately point-shooting my little short-barrelled .380 Colt Mustang

Steel by far my favorite. Gets you shooting minute of bad guy and prevents you from looking for your hits because you get the instant feedback.
Fear the man with one gun. Especially if that gun is a Glock 19.

I'll second the clays. I like setting them up on a hillside or something, and trying to see how many hits I can get on each one (if you start at the top, quite a few with a .22).

But really any kind of reactive target is fun.

Ditto that. I've gotten very good at "acoustic targeting" in the middle of the night when the lights are off, too.

Paper grocery bags, if you cut them right, you can get the IDPA shape targets for free. it's just missing the bottom most portion. Outside of that, clay pigeons are always fun and kept on hand.

I prefer the "Dirty Bird" targets that show where the bullet strikes the target.

I also like to take plastic milk, soda or juice bottles filled with coloured water, using red food colouring. Makes a nice red explosion when hit with a bullet.
