Thanks! Every year I swear I will not overeat, and every year I do it again! Well, at least I'm consistent!

To all my friends here, wishing you all a safe and happy Thanksgiving. And lets remember those abroad in harms way and their families.
Ignorance is a long way from stupid, but left unchecked, can get there real fast.
Enjoy the 3000-5500 calories you will likely consume.
And remember this:
The first Congress of the USA wanted Geo. Washington "to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness."
Geo. obliged, declaring: "Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the benficient Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be-- That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks."
Without the reference to any Being, we do have a great deal to be thankful for...
Those 3-5000 calories you individually consume on one Thanksgiving day would feed many in the world for a week or more.
The poorest of us make more in an hour's paid labor than many in the world make in a day; some in a week.
There are 1 in 6 of our population that will be hungry, and even they are grateful to be in this country.
There are 3 in 20 that are on food stamps and even they are grateful to be citizens.
And there is so much more to be thankful for on this day... and every day we live under the flag of the United States of America.
Happy thanksgiving to all...
It could be worse.

I am thankful that I have the freedom to own firearms and carry them in my self defense. I am also thankful to be living in the best country in the free world even if it has lost it's way some. I am also thankful that I was given the resolve not to be in the bottom rung of society and to work hard to achieve my goals. Happy Thanksgiving all.
Happy Thanksgiving all! You guys have really helped me a lot in the past year I've been hear and I appreciate it a great deal, thank you.
