When I asked about this a year or so ago I was almost arrested for just asking the question, lol. Suffice it to say that it is a NO GO.

Nothing to worry about. It's my understanding that all the cruise lines have gotten together and had the Steven Seagal character from Under Siege cloned. By international agreement, no cruise ship is allowed to leave port without their Navy S.E.A.L. trained cook on board!

Don't even think it. Lock up your guns, board your ship and have a ball. Heck, you aren't going to wear enough clothing on the cruise most of the time to conceal a sidearm anyway.

OK, so the real question is: Can the S.E.A.L. actually cook...

At Port Everglades, Ft Lauderdale, Fl you can't even go through the first guard gate, with a weapon anywhere in the car, much less on you. I was asked if any weapons were in the car one time when picking up friends at the port, I replied that I did have a weapon (was not going to lie about it) and promptly told to step out of the car and wait outside the gates, clear across the street. My wife had to proceed to pick up our friends alone, then had to come around to pick me up once again. The other choice was that they could hold my weapon until I was exiting the port, that was not a good choice for me.

I want a floating cane with EPIRB, shark repellent, and a strobe.

Questions from passengers on my last cruise:

"Does the crew sleep on board?"

"Does the duty free booze limit count what I have just drunk?"

"I paid for a sea side berth. All I can see is the dock terminal!"

I even had my little bitty pen knife confiscated. Ridiculous.

Sadly, no guns allowed. I took a sturdy wooden cane on my last cruise even though I didn't need one because they won't confiscate a cane, and it can be used as a weapon.

The better question to ask is if the cruise is making any foreign ports of call? Do you really want to spend a good chunk of your life in a foreign jail for violating weapons laws? Just saying...
