Nothing says Christmas like Santa and an array of machine-guns, at least for the Scottsdale Gun Club in Arizona, where the jolly fat man paid a visit toting a goodie bag of lethal weaponry.
Club members and their children paid $10 on Saturday to pose with Santa, who handed out machine-guns for the festive occasion while a photographer preserved the moment for family holiday cards.

Among the toys from Santa's workshop was a belt-fed Garwood minigun, a military weapon capable of firing 4,000 rounds per minute.
“I think it’s going to be all in fun for those who support the Second Amendment, and for those who don’t," club member Richard Jones told Fox News in Phoenix. "Whether you’re a gun advocate or not, you should have a lot of fun with it.”
The Scottsdale facility offers 24 air-conditioned shooting lanes, a tactical shoot house, and a collection of handgun, rifle and shotgun rentals.
“Machine-gun Adventures” start at $54.95 US, the club says, and no experience is necessary.
Santa will be back again on Dec. 10 for another shoot.

When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk.

Hmm, this is about the only time I've thought of visiting Arizona.
If you ask me, I'd say that it fits right in with hot dogs, Bibles, and apple pie.

Well, you might have missed the holiday event at SCG, but this coming weekend is the 3-day gun show at the State fairgrounds in Phoenix. This is the show which is co-hosted by the Small Arms Review magazine, and there is one full building - over 11,000 square feet - of mostly Class III and military weapons. That's in addition to 3 other buildings full of vendors. Come on down!

As a gun enthusiast I would love to handle and possibly fire all their machine guns. It sounds cool.
But I must say that is about the tackiest thing to have a picture of your kids, with Santa, with guns. I'm all for kids, guns and Santa, but not all together.
An event like this makes gun advocates look a bit crazy and irresponsible. I'm sure the guns are unloaded and things are conducted in a safe manner but it still gives a bad impression.
But, to each their own.
Forgot to ask, What the heck does Santa have to do with guns?
