I had a RR spike, thrown through the windshield of a straight truck years ago, by some hoodlums in the D on a Train Track overpass.

It had hit just to the right of the drivers seat, but would have still struck me, had the clip for the sun visor not been broken, which allowed the sun visor to hang lower than it would have, thereby taking the hit of the RR spike.

BTDT, got that Tee shirt. Scary, eye opener for sure.

My step dad saw one fly into the truck in front of him. Same scene except it was sitting in the passenger seat when it was over. Cab full of feathers too. That'll get your attention!

Had a friend buy a new truck just after collage. He was coming home from the dealer and hit a turkey on I70. Caved in the roof and smashed the front and back glass, tore up the seats. Enough damage the insurance company totaled it and he got a new one.

I wonder if they'll give him a citation for hunting turkey with a tractor during bow season?

When, exactly, is tractor season for turkeys?

Year round. The tractor trailer is the honey badger of the road, it takes what it wants!

    Wow.

I have had several "close" calls with Wild Turkey's. A few years ago I had two occasions where they sailed across the hood of the moving vehicle I was in.

Scares the crap out of you, believe me.

Just a few days ago, I had a Turkey Vulture fly off the dead Possum it was consuming as I rounded the curve in the road and flew straight at me, veering off at the last second before spattering it's body against the windshield of my work vehicle.
