Had a mountain lion in my backyard last weekend
I have an AR with a 3rd Gen Russian military night scope, I've played hell with coy-dogs for a fella that use to let me deer hunt, wish I was closer. Check that....I see you are in Colorado, I just moved to the western slope, where abouts are you?
On a side note; is there a fence between you and the CRP? If so I would try to find the crossing points and set snares, I would also not be beyond putting out poison bait (poisoned meat on stakes about 3 feet high).
YEP^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I read that the Eastern coyote has DNA from wolves mixed in.
They are agressive.
On my way to work several months ago, i get to the stop sign at the end of Gratiot and Bauman rd, and a yote was walking in the intersection, from a horse pasture to the side I was on, and down into a river bottom. He veered off his path for a moment when I came to a stop, straight towards me, like he wasn't afraid of the car or anything and then quickly trotted off into the riverbottom.
Rumor has it, in the North country, the motto concerning wolves and coyotes is "Shoot, Shovel and Shut-up"
I took out a coyote this year and last up @ deer camp.
30-30 hollowpoints do a number on them, but good.
If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.

Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy." -- Ernest Benn
Irish Wolfhounds will hunt and kill wolves...they completely eradicated the wolf population in Ireland.
But...
Stick a donkey in with the cows.... That's what the cattle fellows do around here (Central FL).
Donkeys hate dogs, coyotes, etc. "They'll hunt them down like the dogs that they are..."

I will take the 2 legged animals here in NY than running into the 4 legged kind you guys have out there.
The only problem with that video is that the 'yote survived the encounter
Trust in God and keep your powder dry

"But if they don't exist, how can a man see them?"
"You may think I'm pompous, but actually I'm pedantic... let me explain the difference."
"Carry the battle to them. Don't let them bring it to you. Put them on the defensive and don't ever apologize for anything."
I also have the same problem at my place. I use a .17 HMR that I won at a DU event. That little thing does great around 0 to 200 yards.
There was one video on the web of a donkey killing an attacking pit bull (I think)
Interesting donkey factoid. When donkeys bite they do not stop biting until their teeth meet. (ouch!)
I was just thinking that a night hunt for yotes would be fun,but then I realized it was 70 degrees here today, and Feb in Colorado is more like 7 degrees, back when I was 20 sumpin It woulda been fun,but at 54 it sounds miserable
