My son had to write about an american hero for an essay to get into college. He wrote about me. I didn't even know till later (college called to say he got accepted and liked his essay). He never he saw me in uniform until my retirement ceremony. What he wrote about was how no matter how long I was gone, when I was home I was home 100 percent for him and his mom. It was very touching. We went to the range that day.
