I call that a stupid tax. If you are stupid enough to report it, you should pay a tax for your stupidity.

    Quote from article:
He told police that he recently bought a Glock 19, and he was looking at the weapon after loading it and the gun fired.

He told police that he recently bought a Glock 19, and he was looking at the weapon after loading it and the gun fired. He was alone in the house when the gun went off, Cotto said.
Obviously he neglected to read the manual, placed his finger on the trigger and the gun functioned exactly as designed.

I was never very good at ratting on myself. 'Call it a personality defect, but it's kept me out of trouble.

He must have given that Glock a real dirty look to make it go off like that.

Just why on earth would you report yourself? I can see the need if it struck a neighbors home. Even than I would attempt to resolve this without getting the cops involved! Without question a need for additional training is in order.

I've done it twice, bench in garage, momentary distraction (wife). AD's happen. Ask any gun smith.
Brick home no through and through, spackle works just fine. If you play with guns long enough, this is going to happen, check for exterior damage, fix the interior, keep your hand off the trigger and the phone.

How about we change that to :
"If you handle guns long enough, this is a possibility that we try to avoid."

Must've been "looking" really hard at that trigger to press it.
