D Day was about three hours ago. I am now a farmer.
It is surely true that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Nor can you make them grateful for your efforts.

Great thing to do with the way the country is going. At least you will have food to eat:)
Its a shame that youth is wasted on the young.

Green acres is the place to be.
Farm livin' is the life for me.
Land spreadin' out so far and wide.
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.
New York is where I'd rather stay.
I get allergic smelling hay.
I just adore a penthouse view.
Dah-ling I love you but give me Park Avenue.
You are my wife.
Good bye, city life.
Green Acres we are there.
We don't regret moving from SCShores Mi. to St. Clair County back in '93.
Driving sucks now 'cause of the cost of gasoline.
When we moved it was $1.07. What were Gas prices in 1993
Now its $3.88.

Congrads man! Just in time to get that ground tilled up.
Ignorance is a long way from stupid, but left unchecked, can get there real fast.

I spent summers on my uncle's Indiana farm as a kid. Days started at 4:30am and ended at dark. Cattle, pigs, chickens, corn, soybeans, wheat. Many days I'd be too tired to eat dinner. I learned so much those years that has stuck with me. Aside from skills (I learned to shoot there), you come to understand the value of hard work and making something substantial happen from your own two hands. You also learn to rely on and assist your neighbors as everyone has a problem at some point that requires expertise or simply a couple of more strong backs. Sadly, my uncle passed away a few years ago, none of my cousins were interested in taking it on, my aunt leased out the pastures and fields for a couple of more seasons, but finally sold and moved to town.
Congrats on your new lifestyle. There's a lot to be said for the rural life. Agribusiness is such a slippery slope these days, best of luck!
