Ok, probably not, but she has better trigger finger discipline than most Hollywood types. I'm not really sure how I feel about this video, but at least it isn't a complete farce. And it certainly is a departure.

A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.
I never saw any female Marines that looked like Katy Perry, even with that short hair. Too bad.
Interestingly, I don't think she wears an Eagle, Globe and Anchor at any point during the video. There is one on the letter while she burns the letter. However, her cover is definately the version sold to corpsmen and the like without one, and it didn't look like there was one on her breast pocket either.

Well the USMC doesn't issue A2 AR-15s, but hey her trigger discipline was good. :)

I'm not sure why, but I've always thought Katy Perry was a closet shooter.

My youngest son had much longer hair than she did when he decided to go into the Marines like his brother. Donated 15" to Locks of Love before Boot Camp in San Diego and still had a mop for them to shave off.
She was obviously going for the GI Jane thing there. And as to not wearing the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, I am hoping she or the director had enough respect for our Marines to leave that off since it is just a music video and those emblems should be earned, not just pinned on IMHO.
But looking at all that nice weaponry makes me want to visit the local hole in the wall gun shop again.....looks at wallet and regrets having to shell out another $1,000 to the IRS next month. MAN! That would have been the makings of another AR in the closet :(

I wish somebody would send her to Afghanistan.
What a boob! (not the good kind either)
Might have judged her too soon...
"This music video, as much as I was sore and exhausted, I was so educated on people in the service who I've always respected, but this time the respect goes beyond and above anything I could've imagined," she said. "The stuff that they go through, the loyalties and strengths that they all possess, it seems like they are seriously, not to sound weird, but it's seriously the heart of America."

liked the video.. thanks
reminded me my sister joined the Marines back in the late 60's; before it was popular for lady's to do such.
There are still units that issue M-16 A2's, generally non-combat support units.
I have a lot of respect for Corpsmen. But you can't be a Corpsman and be in the Corps (but the green side comes close).I saw a few hot BAM's in my time, guess you should have been a Corpsman.
