Decisions, Decisions, Do my taxes? or go to the range?

Okay, I know I owe taxes to Uncle Sam this year as well as to the state . I have yet to do my taxes and file them, and am starting to feel the pressure. I also want to go to the range.

If I go the range, I will blow through ammo, and will want to replace it with the funds I need for my taxes, but if I do my taxes, I won't have my ammo.

You can delay, but you have to pay.

If, God forbid, you got hit by a truck tomorrow, your estate would deal with the IRS in your absence. However, you'd never be able to go to the range again, and no one would launch rounds downrange for you. So, go to the range today and do your taxes tomorrow.

What a dilema. No easy answer either but I understand.

My wife does our taxes, but she also likes to go to the range. It would be a diffiult choice for the both of us but I think getting Uncle Sam taken care of now will spare people the heartache come April 17th.

Do the Taxes, man, do the Taxes!

(I had to fix the Apr. date, someone alerted me to the error! Thank you!)

Go to the range by all means. They'll come get you whenever they want no matter if your taxes have been illegally taken or not. Range today......Puerto Rico tomorrow. Not so bad IMO.

Not to step on Rock & Glock's shoes, what you need is a visit to the IRS.gov site.
Get yourself "Form 4868 Application for Automatic Extension of Time
To File U.S. Individual Income Tax Return "

A few quick calculations and you can procrastinate at the range until August.

Of course you'll be in exactly the same situation come August, deadline looming,
urge to go to the range.

You gotta do it. Man up.

Just remember - It is an extension of time to FILE, NOT an extension of time to PAY. On extension, you must pay in at least 90% of the actual tax or you could be subject to penalties for failure to file, and/or failure to pay, or both, plus interest. Cheers.

Ya'll, never worry about my toes.

    Go shoot.

Well, I am a good American, and I did my taxes

Trying to do two different states and the federal wasn't fun, PLUS when one job is done through the internet, and from home, and they didn't take out the state taxes makes it tough. The "home office deductions, and all the stuff that goes with it, the forms, Schedule A's, B's, Worksheet's, Long Forms, Short Forms, 1099R's, 1099'G's W2's

Now that taxes have totally my bank account I get to look forward to going to the range maybe on Wednesday.

Besides, it was near freezing outside, foggy and snow flakes in the air. Still would have preferred the range over taxes. But now that they are done, the envelopes will sit for another couple of weeks before I put them in the mail.
