Bond Star Craig Has Cinematic Gay Kiss

No doubt there are plenty of on-screen kisses in store for Daniel Craig as the new James Bond. But none will be more talked about than the one that premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
Craig plays one of the men who brutally murdered a Kansas farm family in "Infamous," which examines Truman Capote's emotional journey into the minds of two killers that formed the core of his true-crime novel, "In Cold Blood."
An attachment grew between Capote and confessed killer Perry Smith during the long periods the author spent in Kansas teasing out their story, and in a pivotal moment, the two men kiss.
"I never dreamed I'd kiss James Bond," quipped Toby Jones, the British actor who plays Capote. "Now that I've done it, I say I hope I'm just the first of many."
Director Douglas McGrath said Craig was not a recognizable screen presence to most moviegoing audiences when he cast the 38-year-old actor for his movie, which also stars Sandra Bullock.
"That isn't going to be the case in (a few) weeks," McGrath said.
Craig missed Thursday night's premiere, reportedly to finish work on the Bond picture, "Casino Royale," due out in November.
While the Bond movie will enjoy a much wider release, McGrath said the close timing is good for both films _ and a good opportunity for audiences to see what Craig is made of.
"For people to see Daniel as Perry Smith, a low-class, uneducated, vile misfit, and then to see him as James Bond ... it offers an immediate comparison and shows what kind of range he has," McGrath said.
"Infamous" was shown out of competition in Venice. The movie was in production just a bit behind last year's "Capote," which examines roughly the same period of the author's life.
McGrath said the studio held his film back so the two movies would not get in each other's way.

He's also rabidly anti-gun:
Daniel Craig will have a problem playing the new James Bond - because he hates guns.
The actor will wield 007's famous Walther PPK in the movie Casino Royale.
But he revealed in OK! magazine: "I hate handguns. Handguns are used to shoot people and as long as they are around, people will shoot each other.
"That's a simple fact. I've seen a bullet wound and it was a mess. It was on a shoot and it scared me. Bullets have a nasty habit of finding their target and that's what's scary about them."

Of course, that does not stop him from doing the movie, or taking the cash.
Hypocrite!

Unless audiences for James Bond movies have changed a very great deal in the last few years, I predict a very brief stint for Mr. Craig as 007.

I agree - can't see him lasting.
As for his retarded anti gun statement
"I hate handguns. Handguns are used to shoot people and as long as they are around, people will shoot each other.
He like most of his ilk fail to make a distinction between good guys and badguys - what a maroon. Over gut-emotionally short sighted (like, blind!).
And also yeah - like so many anti gun actors - they still get the paycheck.
If they had real principles they'd not take work where guns were involved - total hypocracy.

He's anti gun ... He's British! What do you expect?
Hell, Roger Moore almost couldn't play Bond he was so afraid of guns.
I seriously doubt that Sean Connery, Timmothy Dalton or Pierce Brosnan are pro gun either.

What would one expect from a British subject; as opposed to a citizen?

....uh, gents....Chris, a.k.a. P95Carry, is originally from England; so contrary to popular (U.S.) belief...there are pro-gun Brits (or expat Brits living in the U.S.)....now British and in the arts/entertainment industry....that's a near guaranteed receipe for anti-gun sentiment.

Haha - yep - but EX Brit - very EX!!
I did of course because of shooting know many pro-gun Brits in the old days but that was a drop in the ocean amongst the huge majority of bleating sheep. Emotion always won the day.

They're not. But at the very least they all appeared to be competent when handling firearms. Remember Sean Connery in Dr. No when he killed the guy in the girls home? The guy snatched up a gun from the floor and tried to bust a cap into 007. Click. 007 looks at the man and says: That's a Smith and Wesson and you've HAD your six. He plops a shot into the guy who flops over on his belly. Then 007 casually plops another silenced round into the guys BACK to finish him. How politically incorrect to shoot the guy in the back! Then to slowly unscrew the hushpuppy and blow the curling smoke from the tube??? That's good cinema!
Pierce Brosnan was nearly as good.
I really don't think of these guys as they are in real life. I'd spend my life in disappointment. I prefer to leave them in their movie roles. Like I leave looney Clooney in Peace Maker. It's just that this time...I don't think I'll be able to leave aside the image of (as somebody here so eloquently put it) Brokeback Bond.
BTW, this guys statement that bullets have a nasty habit of finding their targets...does anybody know where I can find any of those specific types of rounds?? I'd love to be able to shoot and have those bullets just magically HIT even if I did something wrong...

Sean Connery worked openly to ban all handguns in the UK. I remember reading the story about it.
