A spectacular sliding scale...in a relative sort of way.

I used to be able to see a yoctometer but now need my reading glasses.

bcmcg, you had me going there for a minute!

What I find interesting is that within 3 orders of magnitude, our ability to see far is nearly the same as our ability to see close. Both about 1 meter to the plus or minus 22nd power. Coincidence? I think not.

I'm happy to say that I contributed a fraction of my life to seeing far - 2-1/2 years spent on the Space Telescope, back in the first third of my career.

Pretty cool. My sister stopped moving, and stared for a minute when I panned through it. (At 15 WITH a computer in her lap... that takes A LOT to pry her away for even a few seconds)

Please take everything I say with at least one grain of salt- I am a very sarcastic person with a very dry sense of humor.

I don't believe that there is a universe out there. The government just made all of that up.
What you are seeing in your telescopes is just thousands of pounds of glitter that the Russians shot up into orbit around the Earth.
Next thing you'all will be telling me is that we actually went to the Moon.
That was all done on a HollyWood movie set.
Why would we even want to go there since I heard that it's just made out of cheese!?!
We already HAVE cheese here on Earth.

Well, when you put it that way, maybe the universe does revolve around me!

No, it revolves around string! Didn't you zoom all the way in?
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Good stuff there! I knew that you are smarter than you look. Tee...hee...hee!

Besides, everyone knows that the universe revolves around a Smith & Wesson yoke tube.
