    LEO ENCOUNTER,Bad,Good

I am disabled and refuse to quit living life to its fullest and grow up.Today as I was leaving my Doctors office on my motorcycle,I lost balance and couldn't hold the weight up,bike fell on the left side pinning me in the parking lot,I noticed 2 LEO cruisers about 50 yards away before I ate it,a guy in a pickup stopped and pulled my bike off me.The Receptionist in my Doctors office thought the truck hit me and they are calling 911.
After I pulled myself up my left foot was pointing to the west and down,I thought ah crap I broke my ankle, about that time the Cop shows up and my Doctor comes out and I'm putting pressure on my left leg and thinking maybe I sprained it as I take a couple steps and get yelled at by my Doctor (Friend).I tell the LEO I just fell over and don't need an accident report,Doctor says your going in an ambulance to the hospital.I say you can't carry into a hospital, and you need to take my gun (Doctor/Friend/Range Buddy) I hand him my "Colt SS Combat Commander XSE 1911 " with muzzle down passed to him and he takes it like it's normal.
LEO says you have a CHL? I say oh I forgot to mention it in all the excitement ,he says was it concealed?,I asked did you see it? He said no,then he asked what I shoot and went into the guns I own and reloading and pretty much everything about guns.He said no kidding, about that time they loaded me into the "meat" wagon and 2 hours later I'm in a splint with orders not to put pressure on my broken Fibula.I guess until they can put me in a walking cast, I'll have nothing to do but load ammunition.and fondle guns I should be shooting. At 44 I broke my neck and at 54 I broke my ankle,at least I didn't break my ass with orders not to sit on it.I hope I survive 64 without any more breaks

Broken Fib, that's obnoxious. At least it's not weight bearing. I broke mine years ago. The next day I drove myself home 3 hours in a stick shift truck, shifting with the broken Fib. Two days later I was in a climbing tree stand and shot a deer. Being younger and dumber helped. Hope it heals quick.

Sorry to hear of your "incident".

Will pray for a quick heal.
Sounds like you've had a rough medical history, but do not despair.

    AND,
If I may make a suggestion, as someone who enjoys your posts, with the wit, intelligence and thought, that often goes into them, maybe the powers that be here at DC would make you an interim MOD, if they needed any help, thereby helping out here , and passing some of your time.

Have someone go to the hospital you were at and ask for a bed urinal. Plastic and you can lay back and fill the canted opening...
Good luck on a quick recovery...

Duk, I admire your spirit. A couple of notable lines from your post -
I am disabled and refuse to quit living life to its fullest and grow up
    and
leaving my Doctors office on my motorcycle
    , plus
my Colt SS Combat Commander XSE 1911
    .

I think there are a lot of folks out there who would have struck their tent, called it a day, and retired into "poor me" victim-hood. (Heck, don'cha know two-wheeling and guns are dangerous???) I much prefer your choices, and I hope you're an inspiration to many others.

BTW, I didn't realize Vespas were that heavy... (Smitty ducking)

    Get well soon, buddy!!

It sucks being laid up. I was down for two months a couple of years when I cracked a few ribs during a fall. It was about a 20 minute commitment just to get out of bed, let alone go to the bathroom.
