    There is respect out there. And traditions are still being honored. This gives me hope, taken on a military base.

    The March of Dimes worked. There's an opportunity there for being pro-active in defense of your rights.
    Alternatlvely, please just actually give actual money occasionally.

    This. Children do what they are taught and what is expected of them. If they are not taught and you expect little, you will get a proportional response.

    I must confess that my daughter would not have responded as appropriately but we are not a military family and neither she nor I have been trained. National Anthem or Color Guard - different story.

    Wow that brings back some memories!!! When we were stationed overseas, they always played the National Anthem at the Base Theater before the main feature and everyone stood up. Was kinda weird when we came back to the states and went to the local theaters...
