I can remember back in school and the military kids with last names that got joked about constantly.
Reminds me of a Navy Funny story,Master chief is getting to know his enlisted men and calls out to one hey sailor whats your name, sailor responds "John" Master Chief,Master Chief replies this is the Navy we go by last names son,now whats your name sailor,he replies "Darling" Master Chief says now as I was saying "John" I need you to go to supply and get me.....

I refer to the hyphenated name as the hillary syndrome, seems it took off after she became rodam-clinton.
