Your son's name is Saw? After the gun or the movies?

I'm sure Mr. and Mrs. Colt had no problems naming their son Samuel and giving him the family name of Colt. The same for Mr. and Mrs. Ruger, or Remington. Someone had these names before there were guns named after the people. Beretta? Barrett? Browning? Gatling? Walther, Weatherby, etc.

Using the last name as a first name is odd, but not unheard of. Besides the folks on this forum, how many people even know that Kimber is a firearm name? Which is weirder as a first name, Rutger (Hauer) or Ruger? And if you want a really weird first name how about a girl named Hernia?

Was going to name my son Logan Xavier (Wolverine and Professor Xavier's real names) but I was pleasantly surprised by a beautiful baby girl. My MIL was relieved.

A friend named his dog Barrett, after the rifle... especially humorous since the dog is a miniature Schnauzer!

I have know a couple of guys named Colt over the years, and I'm sure the name had nothing to do with firearms.

I have friends that named their dogs Ruger and Luger.

My wife's best friend is named Gleamer. Her parents were hippies and named their other girls Star and Vrolet (she was conceived in the back seat of a Chevrolet)!

Speaking of actual names. The best one I heard was a Pawn shop owner named his daughter Crystal Shandra Lear. Now that is just a cruel joke on the kid.

I worked with a guy named Dahl. When they were expecting I tried to get him to name the girl Ima Baby Dahl. He didn't...had no sense of humor.
