Another reason to not let someone do a search without a warrant

Man has 22K in cash taken by LEO during traffic stop while not breaking any laws. Some folks here think I am nuts or not courteous for only telling a LEO what the law requires...well, here is another reason why:

    That is ridiculous.
    Totally ridiculous.

If he was not charged with a crime, and it is not illegal to carry cash, then his property was siezed without justification.

Legalized thievery is what it is.

WOW ?!? Who can take those thugs to task for that? Yes, I said thugs.

I almost always travel with some backup cash just in case.

"He had two clients where police agreed to drop the cases in exchange for a cut of the money -- $1,000 in one case, $2,000 in another. In both cases, that was less than what they might have paid in attorney fees." Miles called that "extortion."

Seems that you'd have a pretty good chance of winning by taking it all the way to court and suing for legal fees.

Easier to wait on the side of the road until the warrant arrives.

I'm not so sure that is legalized thievery. It sounds plain old fashioned thievery under color of law, of the illegal variety.

You can't sue for being charged or accused, if this was the case there is a lot of people that would be rich. Fact is that they can charge you with anything they want and get away with it...proof here look at this.

This guy was charged with farting but the charges were dropped but he still had to post bail and hire an attorney to fight it

But this guy wasn't charged with anything. Wasn't even arrested.

It would be like confiscating a person's car because people who commit DUIs often do so with vehicles. Or taking a CCP holder's gun because guns are often used to commit crimes.

Am I the only one who noticed the tattoos on the LEO's neck?
I have many(MANY) tattoos. None of them are on my neck. Why? Because everyone that I have ever known with tats on their neck were involved with a gang of some flavor.
