I just read that on CNN.com and I thought of something I saw on the web awhile ago....
Torture numbers, and they'll confess to anything. ~Gregg Easterbrook
Statistics are like bikinis. What they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal is vital. ~Aaron Levenstein
I can never wrap my hands around things based upon statistics and statistics alone. I know a lot of politicians can do it only for the sake of their own devices and causes unfortunately.
I try and base my decisions on what my common sense tells me is the truth. Had these so-called "victims", the ones who are true victims, not some gang-banger homies with chips on their shoulders, but true-to-life victims of "gun-violence", had they been willing and able to defend themselves appropriately with a firearm maybe not have ended up as "victims"?
There's a "statistic" we'll probably never see on CNN....... Unless your a wheelchair-bound person from NY.
"You've never lived until you've almost died. For those who fight for it, life has a flavor the protected will never know" - T.R.
<----My LT was unhappy that I did not have my PASS-Tag at that fire. But I found the body so he said he would overlook it. :)
that in many places...crime is just not recorded so that the numbers don't reflect the truth!
Figures lie and liars figure...
"That I cannot do."
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."
