A lot of these songs are from before I was born. :-o
I listen to newer alternative rock or R&B (No specific songs as I stream Pandora.)
I like it all, depending on what mood I'm in.
It's raining this morning after a Blessed weekend, so it's country/bluegrass hymns on Pandora Radio.

Last couple of years I've been mostly listening to symphonic or gothic metal and their variants. You could probably describe it as a cross between heavy metal and opera.

Actually a whole lot of stuff I listen to is even older than I am. I listen to the old bluesmen and women from the delta, Texas, Chicago, etc. It doesn't get much better than Robert Johnson, Billie Holiday, Muddy Waters (he was still popular in the 70s) and Blind Lemon Jefferson.

I have a wide taste in music. The first two are in my ipod (actually the first three). The first two show I live in a small town between Whiteman AFB and a Amish community. Third is just for humor.

When I was in High School and College, I studied Classical Trumpet at the UMKC Conservatory of Music. I enjoy listening to a young woman who have stuck with it and excelled at it. That is the next two.

The final one just tugs at my heart. It is a Marine who sings the second verse of the Star Spangled Banner.

Here is one that shows what one talented guy can do with a computer. Watch some of his other ones too. Very entertaining.

The best rendition of "Stairway to Heaven" Stanley Jordan is an awesome guitarist and he taps the entire thing with up to 3 guitars. A must watch.
It is very jazzy

At work, the Marine in the office next door plays oldies from the 50's and 60's, which I like.
As for my personal tastes, I like a wide variety of music; everything from rock, classical, swing, country, etc. I can't stand Gangsta' Rap or most Opera.
Faves off the top of my head:

Van Halen - The Full Bug and So this is Love
AC/DC - Whole Lot of Rosie and Shook me all Night Long
Beatles - just about all of their stuff
Glen Miller - just about all of his stuff
