Biggest shindig ever this year IMO. Happening in my town this week....just like it does every year about this time. This year seems to have more power behind it. Just looking at things from the outside. Kinda wish I got tickets to the Aerosmith concert...........but a win on the lottery would be swell too!

To steal a line from Gerald Ford, "if Sam Walton were alive today, he'd be turning over in his grave." I fully believe Walton would have found a way to establish a better balance in many aspects of how his company is run.
I buy my Mobil-1 oil at Wal-Mart, and my wife occasionally food shops there, but beyond that I avoid it as much as I can. I do better on ammo purchases buying by the case at local shows.
I’m a devout capitalist but I find it hard to hold Wal-Mart up as a shining example of anything we need to copy or have more of.

I hate Wal-Mart, and avoid it at all costs. As much as it upsets my wife, I will typically drive ten miles out of my way to avoid a Wal-Mart.
I have had good service at a Wal-Mart maybe 3 times. I did manage to find a good deal on a great TV there recently- but only because I was desperate.
Overall, they have cheap (not inexpensive- cheap) products, barely useful staff, and rude management. No thanks.
The only thing I buy from Wal-Mart is 9mm ammo if my favored LGS doesn't have it. Other than that, I can get most other things at Target or Kroger. I will admit to going to Sam's Club for a few things.
They are also one of the biggest employers both where I go to school in WV, and where I live in PA, so they are a necessary evil at this point.
I have no problem with wallmart. I rarely shop at one because there isn't one close to me. I think its funny how a lot of people claim to hate wallmart yet still buy stuff there. I'm pretty sure that anyting sold at walmart is available at other places. If ya don't like em go somewhere else and pay a little more.

In three years, one month, and twenty days, ( but who's counting! LOL ) I get to retire from Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart won't pay that much to start ( and EVERYBODY starts out at more than minimum wage ), but if you stick around you can get into some much better jobs. Benefits are actually quite decent.
At the risk of sounding chauvanistic, Wal-Mart does fill an employment niche that few others do. We have many many older divorced women, largely untrained and unskilled, that were suddenly thrust into the job market. Wal-Mart will hire and train them. Most other companies won't.
It's seldom, but I do shop there, but I'm not a big fan. Granted, on the surface they have been very successful, but I think the success will come at a price somewhere down the road?
I hate Wal-Mart, because no matter which check-out line I pick, the register ends up being broken.

I too have a love hate relationship with Walmart. I love to shop there, and hate myself for it.
