    CAR BEAN , or CAR BEEN :

    A "carbine" ... being pronounced with the local twang or accent in it .

    I"ve heard "carbine" , pronounced as "car bean" before ...... it took me a second to realize what they were talking about.

    Some defnitions vary, one being .... a shortened version of a long or full length rifle. It made them easier to use in close quarter fighting in comparison to the long full length military rifles that they used to use.
