The following came my way via email and I thought I'd pass it along:
Leave it to (? anonymous ?) to come up with this
plan. What we need now is for our
UN Ambassador to stand up and
repeat this message.
"I see a lot of people yelling for peace
but I have not heard of a plan for
peace. So, here's one plan."
1) "The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs,
past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic,
Hussein, and the rest of those "good ole boys", we will never "interfere" again.
2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany,
South Korea, the Middle East, and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We
would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in
3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave.
We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered
up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're
illegal!!! France will welcome them.
4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless
given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in.
If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum
would never be availableto anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11
5) No foreign "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they
don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.
6) The US will make a strong effort
to be come self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing
nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in
the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.
7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their
oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to
sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites
would be enough.)
8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not
"interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or
whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the
army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.
9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the
spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good
homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.
10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call
us "Ugly Americans" any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH...learn it...or
LEAVE...Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?
"The Statue of Liberty is no longer
saying "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses." She's got a
baseball bat and she's yelling, 'you want a piece of me?' "
That wasn't Robin Williams.
There are some good ideas in that plan but it's wrongly attributed.
This has been around for a while.
I wish I could agree with all aspects of this 'policy', but I'm afraid a complete isolationist policy isn't a good long term plan.
There's a few aspects of it I can throw my enthusiastic support behind: Throw out the UN, deport everyone who isn't here legally, and secure our border. I'd vote for just about anyone who supported these three ideas... unless of course they were anti-2A!
I like the plan whoever came up with it but isolationism is not good.

Sounds like a great idea and we should give it a try! :hand10:
It all sounds completely stupid, ill-conceived and unrealistic to me.
Actually, foreign bases are essential to national security. They give the USA the ability to project it's military power.
If they were not of significant use to the USA, they would not be there. Especially now.
Like most posters have said, these ideas are great in general principle, but isolationism is a bad idea. And no-one is going to sell us oil for 10 dollars a barrel, period. Just as you can't buy a new F150 for $3000 by threatening to buy a Chevy. They have other buyers that will pay more.
We depend on free trade as a cornerstone of the American dream. That's a two way street. If we don't buy, neither will they. No trade=no money=no military and then we are on a fast track to following the Soviet Union as becoming a has been superpower. Step up China.
Secure the borders. It doesn't matter what immigration laws there are if the borders are a joke. And that is in no way a criticism over our overstretched border patrol.
Drilling for more oil isn't the answer either. To become independent of foreign oil, we need to become independent of oil or any finite resource. And the time to research that is not when the oil has gone.
I'm no tree hugger, but we have all seen what happens to our pocket books with the dependence on oil. Wait until there is a REAL shortage.
Oh, another thing
Yeah, the UN. Definitely has become a waste of time, money and people. Too many professional politicians who have never had a job, never lived in the real world, never worried about paying bills, never worried keeping their family safe and so on. Sure, some of the countries they represent do, but those are not the people up there.
As far as I am concerned, they have no credibility or qualifications to make many of the kind of decisions they make.
