My sister was watching this at my grandparents' house in the kitchen by herself while the rest of us were watching something else in the den. My dad snuck out the front door around to the sliding glass door next to where my sister was sitting. He banged on the door and put his face up agaisnt it. I have never heard anyone scream like that. She was about 13 at the time. She didn't finish watching it either.
Exorcist scares the heck out of me.
I don't carry a gun to look for or start a fight. I carry one to finish a fight I never wanted to be in.
We were at the station and watched the Halloween movies. I went to my room which was down the hall from the Chief's quarters. I had the mother of all nightmares. I was in a hospital bed, but couldn't talk or move. I knew everything that was going on around me. The doctor and nurses left. Then the curtain opened and it was that scary guy from the movie with a knife. I kept trying to scream for help, but no noise came out in the dream....but it did in real life. Chief came running in from his room in his boxers and the guys came running in from their dorm...all in boxers. They thought a bum had gotten in from the streets and was attacking me. I was soooo embarrassed. Chief made a rule....no more scary movies at the station for me. I agreed. It's funny.....now. They always warned me when they were going to watch a horror flick and I would go to another part of the station and read a book or sit in dispatch and do needlework.
I have watched scary movies at home....but never had a reaction like that one again.

Salem's Lot was a scary one for me back then.
The only movie that ever gave me (reoccuring) nightmares wasn't even a horror flick..... it was Blue Steel with Jamie Lee Curtis (wasn't even all that good of a movie either and I was in college then).
