Well, I reckon that has changed since I was 10 in 1984. Either that or my teacher fed me a line.

I think this might be Pittsburgh only.

One that used to drive me crazy.

This guy that I worked with used to always say On-na-Ki-na.

Example: "I won't be here on Friday On-na-Ki-na I have a dentist appointment that day."

On-na-Ki-na somehow morphed into that from the old..."On Account Of"

Long ago i figured it would be nice to put up a sign on the highway that explained traffic laws and driving tips. Things like 'turn signals shall be used a minimum of 100 feet before turning" (California), or that people should use headlamps in daytime in bad weather not to see, but to be seen by people who don't defog or scrape ice from the side windows before they drive. Now that I live on a rural state highway, I realise that all it would do is mark my home as that of a pedantic jerk, as stupid people like nothing better than to act naturally, regardless of pesky facts.

Before you accuse me of being the grammar police, I in no way endorse any government agency telling anybody how to write and in no way think that you do not have the right to write as properly or improperly as you would like. It merely looks weird to me.
You're absolutely correct. "Noone" is missing an "r" on the end.

Balderflop, there is too a word noone. <There it is, in print. Can't deny it...it's a word, came right outta my keyboard, it did. It has vowels and consonants and two, count 'em, two syllables. It is now an official word.

none the wiser.... (That's one syllable none, as in not any; not to be confused with two syllable noone, which is not anybody.)

I thought noone was what comes after morninge. Live and learn.

My favorite is "I could care less." Really? So you must care some, since you could care less. You may even care a whole lot. Who knows? But if you want to get the point across that you really don't give a sh-t, say you couldn't care less. That means you don't care at all.

The ol' lady tells me it must be nice to know everything, and I tell her it's OK, but a huge burden.
