    Homeland Security Report Lists ‘Liberty Lovers’ As Terrorists = 2A Supporters

    My Comments: If your love of 'Liberty' also involves your support for the 2A Rights you enjoy, you might be a Domestic Terriorist - implied by the DHS.

    From the article:

    A new study funded by the Department of Homeland Security characterizes Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority,” and “reverent of individual liberty” as “extreme right-wing” terrorists.

    .......the (Govt/DHS funded) study focuses on Americans who hold beliefs shared by the vast majority of conservatives and libertarians and puts them in the context of radical extremism.

    .......it minimizes Muslims as any domestic terriorist threat at all...................(Fort Hood, anyone? Bueler?)

    ....snip....

    - Americans who believe their “way of life” is under attack;

    - Americans who are “fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation)”;

    - People who consider themselves “anti-global” (presumably those who are wary of the loss of American sovereignty);

    - Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority”;

    - Americans who are “reverent of individual liberty”; (like the 1st A and 2nd A)

    - People who “believe in conspiracy theories that involve grave threat to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty.”

    ....snip.....

    Under the FBI’s Communities Against Terrorism program, the bulk purchase of food is labeled as a potential indication of terrorist activity, as is using cash to pay for a cup of coffee, and showing an interest in web privacy when using the Internet in a public place.

    As we have documented on numerous occasions, the federal government routinely characterizes mundane behavior as extremist activity or a potential indicator of terrorist intent. As part of its ‘See Something, Say Something’ campaign, the Department of Homeland Security educates the public that generic activities performed by millions of people every day, including using a video camera, talking to police officers, wearing hoodies, driving vans, writing on a piece of paper, and using a cell phone recording application,” are all potential signs of terrorist activity.

    I guess I must be a Domestic Terrorist because I love Liberty and I beleive in my 2A rights, and I will never allow my government to take them away from me. Not with out one hell of a fight or until im dead. I know there are a lot of other folks here that feel the same way.

    sounds a bit paranoid to me.

    They are paranoid, because they know in reality its us against them. They may have the military and all of there heavy equiptment to protect them and hide behind, but there are a whole lot more of us (the american citizen) than there is of them and there military and we would win in the end.

    Well at least I'll give big government types credit for recognizing an enemy and exploiting their tactical advantage. Recently, I think our side has done a fairly good job of articulating our position but there's always room for improvement. Maybe I'm naive, but a common sense approach combined with factual corroborating evidence gleaned from real life and historical documents from the Founders and Framers of the Constitution seem to go a long way to alleviating peoples fears and concerns. It's natural for people to fear or be suspicious of those unlike themselves - it's a survival mechanism. Many people have never encountered the Truth. While we slept, the lefties infiltrated the media and schools and the positions that I suspect many of us hold are seldom heard. Whenever we dare to speak out the Left has been quick to respond and characterize us in a negative light. By interacting with these people in an informed and nonthreatening way I think we can pull them over to our side. Of course there are those we can never reach and to them I urge you to: "Slay them all" - Drek'Thar Drek'Thar - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft

    I would love to see the link to the actual flyer that says this about cups of coffee.

    Well, I, for one, am glad that my gov't keeps me safe, and protects me from people who pay cash for a cup of coffee, and does those things that are too dangerous for me to do on my own, like think for myself.

    Aren't YOU glad they are keeping us safe?

    Besides coffee I pay for almost everything with cash, does that put me on a terrorist watch list??

    The flyer in the below link for Internet cafes is the closest thing I can find to paying with cash. I don't see a single mention about a cup of coffee. I also note the flyer is very specific to Internet cafe activities, not the world at large:

    FBI “Communities Against Terrorism” Suspicious Activity Reporting Flyers | Public Intelligence

    Gratefully, one thing I learned in high school and college was to actually research claims made to see if they could be supported.

    Potentially yes, because there is no way to track what you buy. Whereas if you bought the majority of everything with a debit or credit card then it would very easy. Easy for government agencies or anyone with the "know how" which would be any malicious hacker.

    I go to great lengths to protect my privacy online and offline that too would considered by feds as potential terrorist behavior. I just call it being paranoid.

    The remarks at the bottom of this article show how crap like this feeds the appetite of those who revel in the possibility that Nazi's will be soon marching down the streets to take our guns and homes. They get all pumped up and the person that wrote the article knows this perfectly well. The writers feed them what they want to hear. A good example is how rich Rich Limbaugh and Glenn beck became preaching this stuff. Hype sells.

    Exactly, just like it has done for Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann preaching their brand of leftist zealotry.
